A quick warm-up
Aimed at whatever's currently holding your playing back — not scales for the sake of it.
Work on a song you chose
Chords, riffs or lead lines from music you actually like, broken into parts you can manage.
Rhythm and timing
Playing in time with a metronome or against the record, so it sounds like the song.
Theory where it helps
Just enough to explain why something works, so shapes stop feeling random.
A practice plan
A short, specific plan for the week so you know exactly what to do between lessons.

About Ben
I've played guitar for over 14 years, hold a BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music from BIMM Dublin, and have been teaching since 2022. Alongside teaching I work as a session guitarist and producer, so what I teach comes from actually playing and recording — not just from a book.
I'm patient, I'm not precious about genres, and I'd rather you leave a lesson excited to pick the guitar up again than buried in exercises.

- How much are guitar lessons?
- €40 for 1 hour, or €30 for 45 minutes. Packages are 6 × 1hr for €220, or 6 × 45min for €170. Online lessons are the same price.
- Do you teach complete beginners?
- Yes. Complete beginners are very welcome — we begin with holding the guitar, tuning, first chords and rhythm.
- Can I learn songs I choose?
- Absolutely. Lessons can be built around the songs and styles you enjoy — bring me the music you love and we'll break it down.
- What happens in a lesson?
- A short warm-up aimed at whatever's holding your playing back, work on a song you chose, rhythm and timing practice, theory only where it makes playing easier, and a clear practice plan for the week.
- Where are in-person lessons held?
- Dublin 18, with students welcome from surrounding South Dublin areas including Leopardstown, Sandyford, Stepaside, Dundrum, Foxrock, Stillorgan, Blackrock, Carrickmines and Cabinteely.
- Do you offer online lessons?
- Yes. Online lessons run worldwide over video call with a high-quality video and audio setup, at the same rates as in person.
- Do you teach electric and acoustic guitar?
- Yes, both. We'll use whichever suits the music you want to play.
- Do you teach children?
- Yes — lessons can be adapted to the student's age, experience and interests.
- How do I book?
